Description
How it works
- Active ingredient: Lufenuron, an insect growth regulator (IGR), inhibits the synthesis of chitin, which is a primary component of an insect’s exoskeleton.
- Mechanism of action: It prevents insects, especially caterpillars, from forming a new cuticle when they try to molt (shed their skin). This disrupts their growth and life cycle, leading to their death.
- Effect on eggs: It also acts on freshly laid eggs, preventing larvae from hatching properly.
- Feeding cessation: After exposure, worms and larvae typically stop feeding and die within 48 hours.
